InnoWave is looking for a skilled Senior Defect Manager with extensive knowledge of Jira. We are looking for a dynamic leader who can optimize defect management processes and foster collaboration among the teams.


Senior Defect Manager


Responsibilities 

  • Own and manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle, from detection to resolution, for all platforms, including STB, SmartTV, Mobile, and Web.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Jira workflows, dashboards, and reports to ensure clear visibility and traceability of defects.
  • Facilitate daily defect triage sessions, ensuring proper categorization, severity, and prioritization of defects.
  • Act as the key liaison between QA, Development, Product Management, and Client teams to ensure defect resolution meets quality standards.
  • Analyze defect trends, create defect leakage reports, and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve overall quality.
  • Work with the QA team to enhance test coverage and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on defect status, leakage ratio, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed RCAs for critical defects and missed defects to avoid future occurrences.
  • Identify gaps in the defect management process and drive initiatives to ensure industry best practices are followed.

Skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in defect management roles, preferably within multi-platform testing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira (configuration, dashboards, custom workflows, and reports).
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with tools for defect reporting, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
  • Proven track record of managing the defect lifecycle across multiple platforms.
  • Ability to analyze large sets of defect data and generate actionable insights.
  • ISTQB certification or similar is a plus.
  • Exposure to testing environments for Set-Top Boxes (STB), SmartTVs, Mobile, and Web applications is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills to interact with technical teams, business stakeholders, and clients.
  • Experience in defining and optimizing defect management processes to meet stringent QA standards.
  • Fluent in English
