Senior Defect Manager (Expert in Jira)

InnoWave is seeking a highly skilled Senior Defect Manager with extensive expertise in Jira to oversee the end-to-end defect lifecycle across multiple platforms, including Set-Top Boxes (STB), SmartTVs, Mobile, and Web applications. This role demands a proactive leader who can optimize defect management processes, foster collaboration among cross-functional teams, and drive quality improvements in software delivery.

• Defect Management Leadership: Own and manage the complete defect lifecycle, from detection to resolution, ensuring efficient handling for all platforms.
• Jira Expertise: Configure, maintain, and optimize Jira workflows, dashboards, and reports to provide clear visibility and traceability of defects.
• Defect Triage and Prioritization: Facilitate daily defect triage sessions, ensuring accurate categorization, severity assessment, and prioritization.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between QA, Development, Product Management, and Client teams to ensure high-quality defect resolution.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze defect trends, create defect leakage reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions to enhance overall quality.
• Quality Improvement: Collaborate with QA teams to improve test coverage and identify areas for process enhancements.
• Reporting & Metrics: Prepare and present reports on defect status, leakage ratios, and other critical KPIs to senior stakeholders.
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct detailed RCAs for critical and missed defects to prevent recurrence.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in defect management processes and implement initiatives to align with industry best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in defect management roles, preferably in multi-platform testing environments.
• Hands-on experience with Jira, including configuration, dashboards, custom workflows, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools for defect reporting, root cause analysis, and process improvement.
• ISTQB certification or equivalent is a plus
